RFL Bridge 2026 is a meeting point for teachers, researchers, and authors of teaching materials — a space to exchange ideas, methods, and practical tools for teaching Russian as a foreign language.

The conference focuses on practical teaching experience — what truly works in real classrooms.

We will explore how to:

  • make your lesson dynamic, relevant, and student-centered
  • motivate learners
    and balance grammar with communication
  • use technology, AI, and multimedia to boost engagement and retention

A special cultural program is being prepared for conference participants: guided tours, evening events, and short trips around Latvia.
For those staying longer after the conference, an extended optional cultural program will be available (additional cost).

On July 3 (evening in Europe, morning in the U.S.), a unique online session will bring together teachers from both sides of the Atlantic.

About Us & Our Team

Baltic Center
Baltic Center is a hub for Russian studies and Russian as a Foreign Language located in Riga, Latvia. Since 2015, we have offered a wide range of programs (including online during lockdowns), combining accommodation in Russian-speaking host families with university-level instruction. Most of our instructors hold degrees in teaching Russian as a foreign language. We have substantial experience organizing structured group programs of various lengths.

In partnership with the Free University, we offer academic lectures and public talks on linguistics, international relations, sociology, history, literature, and more. Lectures can be delivered in English.

Our partners include institutions such as Brigham Young University, Georgia Tech, University of Georgia, Wharton Business School, and others.
Baltic Center also organizes educational events, open lectures, and conferences in Riga to bring leading speakers and experts to the Baltic region. We are known for our students’ rapid progress in OPI-tested proficiency.

Baltic Center runs programs year-round — from short intensives to semester-long courses.

Stanislav Chernyshov, Director of Stanislav Academy — RFL teacher, textbook author, and internationally recognized expert — has over 30 years of experience in teaching, writing coursebooks, developing programs, and lecturing in Russian studies.
